Women’s fitness club to begin

A women’s fitness club has  formed in central Aroostook County.
The goal is to provide an opportunity for women of all fitness levels to meet weekly, to participate in physical activities, and to enjoy a time of discussion on various topics of interest regarding women’s health and fitness.     Over the next 11 weeks, beginning tonight and taking place every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. through Dec. 17, club members will have the chance to participate in a variety of activities available throughout the community.
Among the proposed activities are nordic walking, yoga, indoor cycling, pilates, core work, kick boxing, belly dancing, snowshoeing and nordic skiing.
Guest speakers will be on hand to discuss fitness topics such as nutrition, outdoor recreation, heart rate and workouts, weight lifting myths and strategies, weight loss, sports injury prevention, goals and schedules, massage and its benefits, and stretching.
Those participating will need a good pair of sneakers, layers of non-cotton clothing for outdoor activities, gloves, hats, shorts and a T-shirt.
Registrants will receive a T-shirt and a water bottle. The fee is $50 for the 11-week session or $8 per class. A special rate for the CPT fitness center will also be offered to members.
MOJO will supply walking poles, snowshoes, Nordic skis and other equipment for those who do not already own them.
Those interested in signing up or learning more about the club should either stop by MOJO on 719 Main Street in Presque Isle, email mojosports@ainop.com or call 760-9500.
