Special to the Aroostook Republican
This is to share with you two topics that were observed during my door-to-door campaigning in Caribou.
First: In August and September, by a large margin, the issue of most concern was the high cost of energy — heating oil and gasoline. More recently I am hearing about the sad state of our economy.
Second observation: We all hear about how disrespectful our young people are. I believe a very small minority of our children may fit this category. Numerous school-aged people answered their doorbell exhibiting courtesy, respectfulness and politeness. I was impressed.
Credit must be given to parents, family members, and our teachers for their efforts in developing the next generation of citizens. Congratulations!
