Aimee’s Race is this weekend for racers

    The fall Soap Box Derby rally race was held on Sept. 27-28 at Houlton’ s Community Park.
    “We had two great days of racing,” said Monique Grant, organizer. “The weather was cool in the morning, but by afternoon it was warm.”

    The event drew several first time rally racers coupled with veteran racers.
    “All the racers had a great time,” Grant added.
    Another rally race will be held this weekend, Oct. 11-12, at Houlton Community Park. The race is in memory of Aimee Fitzpatrick.
    Aimee’s Race will be double and single elimination on Saturday, with double elimination on Sunday. Weigh-in is at 7 a.m., with the races starting at 8 a.m. There will be all divisions of racing. Cost is $30 per race.

    Results from Sept. 27-28 Stock Division, double elimination Saturday morning race were as follows: first, Jeramie Ledger; second, Jacob Worthley; third, Olivia Winslow; fourth, Lexi Emerson; fifth, Emily Dickison; sixth, Morgan Grant; seventh, Olivia White and eighth, Shelby Shurtleff, with Kali Emerson also racing.
     In the second heat, Stock Division, single elimination on Saturday afternoon, Worthley (first) and Ledger switched positions, with third going to Grant; fourth, Winslow; a second fifth place to Dickison; sixth, L. Emerson; seventh, K. Emerson and eighth, Shurtleff.
    On Sunday, in the Stock Division, double elimination morning race, Dickison moved into first place, followed by K. Emerson; third, Worthley; fourth, White; fifth, L. Emerson; sixth, Grant and seventh, Mitchell Bragan.
    In the Super Stock Division, double elimination Saturday morning race, Logan Holmes was first followed by Alishia Ledger, Emily Fitzpatrick, Lucas Grant, Rachael Graves, Jessica Dickison, Rebekah Holmes and Matthew Sloat.
    Also racing were Franki White, Gavin Chase, Courtney Dunton, Tyler Fitzpatrick, Gregory Griffin, Courtney Jurson, Bailey McLaughlin, Chelsea Sloat and
Parker Sherman.

    In the single elimination Super Stock afternoon race, Ledger was first, with Holmes taking second. Rounding out third to eighth were Fitzpatrick, Grant, McLaughlin, Graves, Griffin and Jurson.
  Others racing were T. Fitzpatrick, Chase, Dickison, Dunton, Holmes, C. Sloat, M. Sloat and Sherman.
    In the Sunday morning Super Stock double elimination race, Grant was first followed by Graves, E. Fitzpatrick, McLaughlin, L. Holmes, Franki White, Dickison and Griffin.
    Also racing were Chase, R. Holmes and T. Fitzpatrick.
