Presque Isle – Randy W. DeWitt, 51, husband of Mrs. Bonnie L. (Blevins) DeWitt, died Tuesday afternoon, September 30, 2008, at a Bangor healthcare facility following an extended illness. He was born March 20, 1957 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Wayne C. and Lorraine M. (Chapman) DeWitt.
Randy was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School Class of 1975, and was married to Bonnie L. Blevins on May 22, 1976. Randy greatly enjoyed snowmobiling and motorcycle riding and was a member of the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club. He had been employed by Goan’s Electric, Presque Isle from 1975 to 2003 and CAM. Manufacturing, Presque Isle from 2003 to February 2008.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Bonnie L. DeWitt; one daughter and son-in-law, Toni L. and Christopher Lloyd; his parents, Wayne C. and Lorraine M. DeWitt; two grandsons, Noah Christopher Lloyd and Jacob Randy Lloyd, all of Presque Isle; four brothers, Ricky DeWitt of Presque Isle, Rocky DeWitt and his wife Vickie of Fort Fairfield, Robby DeWitt and his wife Cindy of College Station, Texas, Ronny DeWitt and his wife Maryline of Connor; one sister, Ruth Kish of Bangor; mother-in-law, Gail E. Blevins of Fort Fairfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Kenneth P. Blevins in 2000.
Friends called Friday, October 3, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service was conducted Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating. Interment took place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of fellowship with refreshments was held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.
