BANCROFT – Charles B. Antworth, Jr., 87, passed away Sept. 7, 2008, at a Houlton hospital. He was born June 15, 1921, in Stockholm, the son of Charles and Jennie (Burns) Antworth.
    He attended schools in Houlton and graduated from Houlton High School and attended Ricker College. He was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Danforth and the American Legion in Danforth. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Egypt, Iran and French West Africa. He was employed with the United States Government until his retirement with 30 years service, at which time he returned to Bancroft. His survivors include several cousins.
    Friends called from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home-Bartlett Chapel, 24 Houlton Road, Danforth, during which time the Rosary was said. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Danforth, with the Rev. Roger Cyr presiding. Interment will be in Danforth Cemetery, at a later date.
