SAD 29 Music Boosters host Bingo Night

    The SAD 29 Music Boosters are off to a great start this year with the primary focus of their efforts going toward helping the Houlton High School Band/Chorus raise funds for their trip to New York City in May of 2009.
      There were three successful events at the beginning of the school year, including car washes and the popcorn sales from the HHS band concert.  The next fund-raiser is coming up fast as the boosters will be hosting a Bingo Night at 6 p.m. on September 19 at the Linneus Sno-Sports Club. 
    In order for this NYC fund-raiser to be successful, the boosters need your support. There will be food for sale and each game is $1, with some specials also happening as the night progresses. Come and enjoy a great time.
     Parents and community members are encouraged to utilize the new department Web site www.sad29music.org to see what is happening in the schools. It is updated frequently and has a lot of useful information. 
    The music department also has many events coming up for which we will need a lot of 7-12 parent help: All Aroostook auditions, musical dessert buffet, All Aroostook Festival, District Vocal Jazz, and State Vocal Jazz are all major events that will need volunteers. Many of these events also bring people to the community, so we are excited to have visitors utilizing area restaurants, hotels and visiting shops. The next boosters’ meeting is at 7 p.m. on October at Houlton High School.
    Parents are encouraged to come to the Houlton Junior/Senior High School open house from 5:30-7 p.m.  on Wednesday, September 17. The music staff will be meeting with all music parents briefly during that time.
