Rec soccer round-up

    The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department has started its 2008 fall pee wee soccer program. Games began Aug. 25 with some great play by all the teams. Premier League (Grades 3 and 4)
    The Galaxy started its season out strong playing great offensively and defensively in an 8-2 win over the Fire. Camden Huck scored two goals in the first half of action, with one being assisted by Noah Heidorn.  Heidorn opened up the offense in the second half by scoring four goals. Huck and Ashley Matlock each added a goal in the second half.  The Galaxy’s  passing skills were brilliant throughout.
    Team Fire was led offensively by Dylan Bonville’s two goals. Bailey Griffeth and Blair Tweed showed lots of hustle on defense.
    The Metrostars played well in defeating the Rapids, 4-0. Garrison Doody, Austin Brown and Hunter Jackson each had a shot on goal in the first half with Seth Beidelman scoring a goal. During the second half, Evan Desmond, Daniel Randolph, Dawson Hebert and Doody all had shots on goal with Randolph, Desmond and Doody each finding the net to add to the Metrostars tally. Defensively, the Metrostars played a great game.  Austin Brown had a couple of saves in the first half and played strong defense in the second half. Megan Dube and Kyra Thibeault aided in the defense with Dube keeping pressure on the opposing team. The Rapids took several good shots and had strong play from the entire team. Noah Frost played well in goal, stopping many shots. Nick Pelletier showed great hustle in the midfield while Emerson Duplissie was outstanding on defense.  
World League (Grades 5 and 6)

    Hunter Milliard, Austin Griffeth and Mitchell St. Peter each put a ball in the back of the net to help Arsenal win its first game, 3-0 over Liverpool. Great teamwork and passing was the key to the victory.  A strong midfield consistently transitioned the ball from defense to offense. Griffeth also had two assists in the contest.
    Liverpool made some great offensive attacks to goal, but struggled to find the net. Dustin Bouchard showed tremendous hustle all over the field.  Madison had some great passes to her teammates, while Dylan LaMothe played well defensively
    Colby Holdsworth and Michael Marquis each put a ball in the back of the net to help Chelsea win its first game of the season, 2-0 over West Ham United. Kyle Tibbitts, Lauren Chapman and Riley McDuffie played well defensively. Justin Ackerson played strong in the goal. Tre Caudill showed great hustle and helped shut down West Ham United’s offensive attacks. Paul Hanson had several well struck shots on goal.
    West Ham United played hard throughout the entire game, with Michael Hunter and Nick Frost turning in strong outings.

    Manchester United started strong with Dayne Savage scoring both goals in a 2-0 victory over West Ham United. Karina Patterson and Molly Adams assisted on each of Savage’s goals. In the first half, outstanding defense was played by Patterson Ben Ezzy, Savage and Molly Adams. In goal, Donovan Savage was fantastic. Molly Adams and Makayla Bouchard were great offensively in the second half.
    A great game played by Arsenal and Chelsea finished in a 2-2 tie.  Chelsea’s Colby Holdsworth scored a goal in the first half of action. Katie Pelletier scored the second Chelsea goal in the second half. Justin Ackerson played strong in goal, while Tre Caudill and Riley McDuffie played well defensively. Sarah Draper showed tremendous hustle throughout the entire game.
    Arsenal got off to a slow start, but found themselves neck and neck with Chelsea at the end of the game.  Hunter Milliard managed to get one through on an assist from Austin Griffeth in the third quarter. Griffeth then put a penalty kick into the top right corner of the goal. Arsenal’s defense was strong, led by Sarah Doak.
