Mars Hill – Waldo M. Fletcher, 88, passed away suddenly September 1, 2008, at his daughter and son-in-law’s home in Monticello. Waldo was born in Mars Hill, August 30, 1920, the son of Waldo and Lottie (York) Fletcher. 
Besides his wife of 63 years, Doris Inman Fletcher, he was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Waldo is survived by his daughter, Deborah Bell and her husband, Jim; grandchildren, Thor Brown of Anchorage, Alaska and Shannon Kearney of Grand Manan, New Brunswick; great-grandchildren Gage, Hardin, Frank and Joshua Kearney all of Grand Manan, N.B. and several nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful and faithful friend to many. We will miss him very much.
Relatives and friends called at the Duncan Funeral Home in Mars Hill from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Interment was in the East Blaine Cemetery.
