Filmmaker pursues production in region

Filmmaker John W. Bosley has announced that his Michigan-based company, J.B. Movies and Visual Arts, is planning on producing their second film, "The House" in Aroostook County. Bosley, who spent most of his childhood in Presque Isle, will be returning to the area in October to meet with many business leaders and others to talk about filmmaking.
Bosley recently toured with the film "amnesia" throughout Maine in July 2008.
"Our film ‘The House’ was originally supposed to be shot in Colorado, but after much discussion we decided it would be more beneficial to shoot the film in Aroostook County," Bosley explained. "Many people in Maine, especially in 'The County', have wanted to bring more filmmaking here,” he said. “What better way to inspire more people to produce films in Maine than to produce 'The House' here?"
Bosley would like to set the story in one of Aroostook County's cities with refrences throughout the film to the area. "The House" is a blend of murder/mystery and drama with some suspense and action elements. In the story, Jack Peterson receives a visit from the FBI concerning a crime that was committed seven years earlier.
Several organizations in Aroostook County have been trying new techniques to generate more tourism in the region and Bosley wants to use the film to promote tourism and the benefits that the area provides for business and families.
"We want to highlight businesses and also tourist areas unique to Aroostook County in the film," Bosley stated. "Businesses that would like to be shown n the film need to contact us. We would also like to work in conjunction with any tourist or business organizations that want to promote the area."
J.B. Movies and Visual Arts plans to take "The House" on tour throughout the entire state of Maine after its completion in an effort to create awareness of the film and to promote filmmaking in Aroostook County.
