    MADAWASKA – On March 9, 1941, Fraser Employees Federal Credit Union was officially chartered and created to offer share savings and loans products to employees of Fraser. From humble beginnings in a one-room office to the current state-of-the-art offices, NorState Federal Credit Union has a history rich in the traditions of the people it has served.  The exceptional relationship with our membership is the driving force that has helped the credit union thrive and prosper for the past 67 years!
    After a merger with Gateway Federal Credit Union of Van Buren in December of 2000, the name NorState Federal Credit Union was adopted to better reflect its continuing growth and vision of becoming a valued, respected and progressive provider of financial services in a geographical field of membership encompassing all of Aroostook and northern Penobscot counties. Today, NorState Federal Credit Union serves over 12,500 members with 53 employees in five locations including Madawaska, Eagle Lake, Ashland, Van Buren, and Fort Kent with assets totaling over $120 million!
    According to current NorState Federal Credit Union President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Rossignol, “Throughout all those years, our focus has never changed. Service to our members is always number one and that’s why we continue to grow. Our large field of membership demands continued expansion and delivery of products and services to all our members in order to fulfill our mission of working together to improve our members’ financial lives.”
    NorState Federal Credit Union offers a very large selection of products and services to accommodate its members. Our Commercial Business Services Department also has great products and services for your business. Insurance products of all types are also available through NorState’s partnership with Equinox Insurances of Aroostook. Our youth and teen programs are well received by our younger members and our prime time program offers great accommodations for our senior members.
