HHS soccer starts soon
    SAD 29 Athletic Director Wayne Quint has announced the practice/tryout schedule for boys and girls varsity soccer at Houlton High School.
    The girls will take the field on Monday, Aug. 4  at 9 a.m. at the high school field. Prospective team members are reminded to bring acknowledgement forms and a proof of a physical.
    On Tuesday, Aug. 5, the boys varsity soccer practice/tryout will be held at 5 p.m. on the high school field. Prospective team members are reminded to bring acknowledgement forms and a proof of a physical.
Girls only ATV ride
    The Aroostook Riders ATV Club will hold a “Ponytail Ride” – girls only — on Wednesday, July 30. Riders will leave Ken’s store at 1 p.m. Bring a snack. Rain date is Thursday, July 31.
    Fall  soccer Program
    The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring four age groups of youth soccer this fall. If your child has not already registered, registrations will be accepted until August 7 at the main office.
    The age groups are as follow: Grades K-1, 2-3, girls 4-6 and boys 4-6.  Practices will begin the week of August 12.

Discount Ticket Sale
    The Houlton Recreation Department is selling discount tickets to Funtown/Splashtown in Saco and Water Country in Portsmouth, N.H.  
    The combo pass for Saco is $25 per person and the passes for Water Country are $28. Participants will save over 25 percent per ticket.
    To pick up tickets, drop by the Houlton Recreation Department Monday through Thursday between 8 a.m. -1p.m.  For more information, call 532-1310.
