Aroostook Auto Glass defeated Oakfield, 18-8, last Monday at the Houlton Airport.
It was a close game with Aroostook Auto Glass leading 7-6 going into the fourth inning, as they used six hits, including five singles and a triple to take the lead. They then outscored Oakfield, 11-1 to post the win.
Katelyn Wiggins of Aroostook Auto Glass faced Oakfield’s Dakota Dickinson on the mound. Wiggins backed her own cause with a pair of singles and a triple, while Katie Condon pounded out three singles and double and Chelsea Gentle singled twice.
Pacing Oakfield’s offense was Megan Goodall with two singles, while Jess Nye and Dickinson each doubled.
On July 15, host Island Falls toppled Aroostook Auto Glass, 10-3.
Winning pitcher was Lauren Rockwell with 17 strikeouts. Leading the way for Island Falls was Marissa Boulier, Colby Walker and Lacey Lindsay, all with two singles, with Rockwell hitting a double.
For Houlton, Condon belted two homeruns and a double, while Nichole Goguen singled.
In other action on July 15, F.A. Peabody Company overtook Patten, 14-11.
Jamie Theriault threw three scoreless innings, but walks in the fourth and a hit by Gloria Landry brought Patten to within one, 7-6.
Rebecca Moreno, Theriault and Olivia Gervais all singled in the fourth to maintain F.A. Peabody’s lead, while in the fifth inning, Mackenzie Hunt, Morgan Grant and Victoria Holmes all hit to put the game out of reach of Patten.
