Canadians top senior golfers

    The Upper St. John Valley Senior Golf Tournament moved to Caribou Country Club on July 16, with 155 players.
    Two players tied with a low gross score of 72, David MacFarline and Dave Plourde, both of Edmundston, N.B. Taking low net honors was Neal Genz of Caribou CC.
    The other Division I gross was Cliff Chasse, also of Edmundston, with a 76. Net, Armand Corriveau, 68; Marcel Pelletier, 68; and Willard Cyr, 71, all of Edmundston.
    Division II gross winners were: Roland Duprey, 79; Bob Roy, 80, and Conrad Walton, 82, all of Caribou. Net, Bruce Fitzpatrick, Caribou, 68; Harold Soucy, Presque Isle, 69; and Ronald Opthof, Limestone, 72.
    Division III gross winners were: Bob Boucher, Fort Kent, 82; Jenness Gushee, VaJoWa, 83 and Josephel Pelletier, Presque Isle, 85. Net, Darrell Anderson, Covered Bridge, 68; Dale Plourde, Caribou, 69; and Vince Bernier, Aroostook Valley CC, 71.
    Division IV gross winners were: Jeff Everett, Caribou, 88; Mike Fitspatrick, Caribou, 89; and John Manter, AVCC, 89. Net, Rellon Powers, Houlton, 71; Harnish Duncan, Covered Bridge, 71; and Willis Glew, Long Lake, 72.
    Division V gross winners were: David Whitmore, Caribou, 88; Steve Simonds, Fort Kent, 90; and Herb Williamson, Presque Isle, 91. Net, Gerald Clark, PICC, 66; Robert Burns, Covered Bridge, 67; and Paul Higgins, PICC, 69.
    Division VI gross winners were: Genz, Caribou, 87; Nelson Sleeper, Caribou, 93; and Norm Johnson, PICC, 97. Net, John Daigle, Fort Kent, 63; Paul Stoddard, PICC, 67; and Bernie Levasseur, Long Lake, 70.
