Youth baseball results
Minor League

The Minor League teams Katahdin Trust and Savings Bank faced off at Pine Street last week. Savings Bank won 14-0. The winning pitcher was Brycen Libby. Receiving the loss was Nick Bartlett. The leading hitters for Savings Bank were Drew Henderson, Josiah Morse and Libby who each had two singles.  Andrew Kirk also contributed a single for Savings Bank. David Kofstad and Libby gave up no runs and no hits and struck out 11 batters from the mound. Corrie Kilcollins made a key tag on a throw by Khasen Lowe for Katahdin Trust.
On the pool field, Key Bank and the Knights of Columbus played a closer contest. Denny Young had two doubles for K of C while John Saucier and Carter Doherty each had singles to score runs. For Key Bank, Joseph Boone had a single for two runs. Grant Stewart, Sam Gray and Joseph Boone struck out a total of 14 for Key Bank. On the K of C side, Grant Bridges, Cooper Madore, and Young struck out 13. K of C won 4-3. The winning pitcher was G. Bridges. Receiving the loss was Stewart.
Savings Bank and Key Bank met at the pool field. Savings Bank won 11-0. Taylor Williams picked up the pitching win with 14 strikeouts. The hitters for Savings Bank were Libby  with two singles, Williams with a single and a double, Ryan Bridges with two singles and Drew Henderson with a single. Gray had 12 strike outs for Key Bank.
Friday kicked off with Kathadin Trust taking on K of C at the pool field. Ryan Player picked up the win as Katahdin Trust won 8-0. Kyle Kilcollins received the loss. The hits for Katahdin trust were delivered by Oliver Gerrish with a single and a double, Player with two singles, Nick Barlett and Devin Grant with one single each. Eddie Kilcollins reached base safely in all three at bats for Katahdin Trust.
Cooper Madore and Patrick Cash each had a single for K of C. Pitching pair Player and Oliver Gerrish struck out 12 batters while giving up no runs on two hits for Katahdin Trust. K. Kilcollins, Young and Madore struck out 13 batters.

Major League
On Friday, the Elks cruised to a 15-7 victory over the Kiwanis. Tyler Seeley, Nick Raineri and Jenna Hallett each drove in four runs for the winners, and Josh Gordon got the win on the mound. Karson Wilcox led Kiwanis with two doubles, two singles and two RBIs.
On Monday, Rotary knocked off Kiwanis, 11-10. Ben Buckley went five-for-five with four singles and a double in the loss. Cody Lyford and Keeghan Lowe each contributed two hits for the winners. Lyford added three RBIs, while Lowe drove in four runners.
Major League All-Stars
The Presque Isle Major League All Stars took part in a round robin tournament competing in two games. In the first game, the Wildcats topped Ashland by a score of 9-8. The Cats were led by the pitching of Nick Raineri and Cody Lyford, as well as a game saving double play by Andrew Paterson. With the tying run on third and one out for Ashland, Paterson made a lying catch on a line drive and fired to Raineri at third base to preserve the win for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats dropped the next game 10-3 to Madawaska. Paterson took a tough luck loss on the mound while the Cats were led at the plate by the hot bats of Ben Buckley and Tyler Seeley.

Pony League
With week four underway, the Wildcats took on Ashland with Andrew Kofstad on the hill for the Cats. Kofstad struck out eight and gave up only two hits in the winning effort. Connor Shaw, Wilder York, Brennen Shaw, Isaac Lajoie and Connor Savage all made key defensive plays. B. Shaw had a double and three-run homer, Cody Flannery has two singles and Lajoie had a single and triple with four RBIs. Chipping in with singles were Amos Dean, York, Ryley Norton, and Connor Shaw. The Cats won by a score of 16-0.
RBD took on Fort Fairfield at Pine Street. RBD’s ace Dillon Kingsbury gave up no earned runs and three unearned runs while striking out 10 through four innings and picking up the win. Landon Keiser had a triple while Jacob Player had a single, Ryan Bernier singled and Kingsbury doubled. Andrew Wilcox had two singles and Evan Waddell had two singles as well. RBD won with a score of 10-9.
Last Wednesday, Fort Fairfield took on the Cats with York picking up the pitching win. B. Shaw had two triples and a single for the Cats, and Norton had two singles. York, Kofstad, Lajoie and C. Shaw all added hits. The Cats won 13-3.
RBD hosted Ashland with Player giving up only one run on two hits in a complete game win. Player struck out 13 batters in five innings. Jacob Williams had two singles, Jonah Stevenson had a single, Player had two singles, Keiser had a double, Corey Belanger added a hit, Zack Campbell had two doubles, Wilcox hit two singles and Bernier singled for RBD. RBD won 14-0.
The last match up of the week featured both PI teams. B. Shaw was nearly unhittable on the mound for the Cats with eight strikeouts in four innings. Every Cat notched a hit in the win. Player had two hits, and Bernier, Stephen Ford and Keiser all added hits for RBD. The Cats beat RBD 23-0.

Youth softball
The Presque Isle Junior girls traveled to Houlton last week. In the first game, PI tallied 16 runs on 10 hits. Kaleigh Kinney pitched a solid game, and singled twice. Jordi Legassie and Carly Bell also singled twice to help Presque Isle to the 16-8 win. The girls dropped a tough game to Caribou in the second match up, 12-4. Brianna Howlett pitched, and singled once. Kinney also singled, and Bell added a double.

PI Classic Bike Race
The Presque Isle Classic Bike Race will be held on Sunday, August 3. Registration is at 9 a.m., and the race will start at 10 a.m. Registration is $15, and is open to ages 14 and up. For more information, contact the Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department at 764-2545.

Outdoor Pool
The Outdoor Pool is now open for the summer. Hours are Monday to Friday from 2 to 4:45 p.m. and 6 to 7:45 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4:45 p.m.
Drain Days for the pool are July 16 and July 30.

Youth soccer registration
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks is currently holding registration for its youth soccer program at the William V. Haskell Community Center.
The program is offered to boys and girls in grades one to six. The registration fee is $15.
Schedules and rosters will be handed out at the community center on Wednesday, August 13 with play beginning August 25 for grades one and two and the week of August 18 for grades three to six.
