UMFK students named to Dean’s List
FORT KENT — Dr. Rachel E. Albert, vice president for academic affairs at University of Maine at Fort Kent has announced that 254 students were named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2008 semester.
Students attaining the honor must be degree candidates, enrolled as a full-time student, and must maintain a 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the semester.
Included on the Dean’s List are 25 students who attained a perfect 4.0 average.
UMFK is situated at the center of Acadian history and culture in rural northern Maine. The regional baccalaureate university within the University of Maine System serves 1,300 students, mostly from Maine but with a considerable number of international students, including 200 Canadian students.
The community of Fort Kent has a population of 4,200 and is situated in the St. John River Valley. The people of the valley are largely descended from the French-Acadians and French-Canadians.
Students from the southern Aroostook region are: Brianne McGary of Cary Plantation; April Miller and Arthur Myers of Houlton; and Thomas Brady of Sherman.
Area students named to Husson College dean’s list
The following students from your readership area have been named to the Dean’s List at Husson College for the spring semester 2008. To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a 3.4 or better grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
Noel D. Pratt, daughter of Dale and Bonnibelle Pratt. A 2006 graduate of Southern Aroostook Community High School and a sophomore majoring in Elementary Education.
USM students named to dean’s list
The following full-time students have been named to the University of Southern Maine dean’s list for the 2008 spring semester. To be named, students must earn a grade point average of 3.4 or above, and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours. Those from southern Aroostook are: Andrea M. Blanchette of Hodgdon; Ryan N. Mack and Kimberly Dawn Ritchie of Houlton; and Megan E. Beals and Adam E. Courtemanche of Ludlow.
