Family thanks community

To the editor:
    In times of need, we, as people, find out how close a community is in a crisis. We think it is important to bring attention to those who help. On behalf of the Beaton family, we the family would like to thank the community for making the recent benefit held for Chris and Terry a success.
We would first like to thank Joe and Kelly from Furniture Floors and North for the donation of the Library Chair to raffle. We would like to thank the many generous businesses for their participation in donating to the silent auction.
    We would like to thank those grocery and food businesses, family and friends who made bottomless pots of beans, potato salad, homemade rolls and desserts. This includes the ladies of the Wesleyan Church.
    Further thanks to those who took the time to sell the tickets at their business establishments.
    Thank you to those who helped set up and clean up; Tina, Wendy, Dawn, Skip, Betty, Karen, Emily and Emily, Travis and friends, Amy and anyone else we have overlooked.
    Of course if it had not been for the Elks Club lending us their building we would not have any place to hold the benefit. Thanks to all those from the Elks who helped in getting set up for the benefit.
    Last but not least, a huge thank you to the community for attending the benefit (over 200 people), participating in the auction, 50/50, Library Chair raffle and donating money at this extremely tough time for the Beatons. Words cannot express the appreciation of the town’s generosity.
