RELAY FOR LIFE — Kathadin Valley Health Center staff walked for a cure during the Relay For Life walk held Friday and Saturday in Millinocket.
The team had set a personal fundraising goal of $2,000. KVHC’s team raised $2,366. The team will receive a plaque with KVHC’s team name on it. This plaque will then be passed on to next year’s highest fundraiser with their name added and so on for the years to come.
Team members were told that most first-year Relay For Life events average $10,000 total in fundraising money. The Millinocket Relay fundraisers exceeded this by raising a total of $18,000. There were 194 people officially registered prior to the event, but there were several hundred more people there for the opening ceremony and lumarinary ceremony.
