A flock of plastic flamingos landed earlier this week in the flower garden at Aroostook Savings and Loan in Caribou as part of a fund-raising campaign by the Caribou Friends of Scouting. The organization is raising money for a new scouting building to be constructed later this year.
To flock a friend, donors can pay $10 for the prank of placing a plastic pair on someone’s lawn. The recipient will be asked to make a donation to have the birds removed from the property. The campaign will continue until June 30. Interested flockers may contact the Friends organization at 540-3841 between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. on weekdays. CFS officials that tended the flock on Monday were from left, Scott Brown, Stacey Skinner, Vaughn Keaton, Dave Hansell, Duane Walton and John Swanberg.
