School safety class offered

    AUGUSTA – With school vacation quickly approaching, the Maine Department of Labor SafetyWorks! program reminds teachers and other school personnel of the upcoming registration deadline for the 14th annual Summer Safety Institute in June. The week-long class helps educators improve safety in schools and provides useful tools to teach teens to work safely. This year’s session will be held June 16 through 20 at the Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle.     Teachers can receive 4.5 continuing education units for participating in the class, or they can elect to receive 3 academic credits at the University of Southern Maine.
