HOULTON, Maine – Last Friday Presque Isle again had trouble on the diamond as Houlton swept both Wildcat baseball and softball clubs for their second wins of the season.     At the softball field, the Shiretowners outscored PIHS 13-3. Allison Young and Allison Donovan led Wildcat offense with two singles each. Donovan also posted an RBI.
A sacrifice hit by Houlton’s Landon York ran in two runs for the Shiretowners in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the win from the Wildcats, 5-4.
Offense was led by Matt Chase with his own sacrifice fly and Dillon Kingsbury posting an RBI.
The Lynx caused plenty of problems for the Wildcats last Thursday at Lincoln, claiming their home diamond.
In softball action, the pitching prowess of Mattanawcook left PIHS unable to make more than a single run for an 8-1 final. PI’s Jodie Buckley got the only hit for the Wildcats with a single.
At the baseball field, the Lincoln team’s offense outpaced PIHS for an 11-1 final. Kingsbury led the Wildcat offensive effort with two singles and one RBI. Brennan Shaw added another two singles.
