To the editor:
It is hard to believe election year is upon us! This year, in Maine, if you want your voice heard in your choice of a Republican presidential candidate for 2008 you must go to your town’s caucus on February 2nd. For Houlton and surrounding towns, we are meeting in the Houlton firehouse at 10 a.m.
For those of you out there who have been praying for a Godly candidate, I encourage you to stand behind Mike Huckabee. Mike is not a Washington insider, nor is he a media-appointed candidate. He does not come from money and he has conducted a positive campaign on a very small budget. He is pro-life, pro-family values, for securing our borders and for fair tax.
You can check out his Web site on www.Huckabee.com to learn more. The more you learn, the more you will realize that Mike is the best choice! As Stephen Strong wrote, “Eighteenth-century statesman Edmund Burke is credited with saying, ‘The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.’ We don’t want evil to triumph; so let’s do what we can to change the moral direction of our country. It is possible our joint efforts will send a faithful Christian to the White House who can help us return to our Judeo-Christian roots? It can happen if we all pull together and come out next Saturday to caucus!
