Carolyn Dorrity, executive director of the Acadia Health Education Coalition (AHEC), has announced the appointment of Dean Grivois of Van Buren as the health careers coordinator for the Aroostook County region. A native of Van Buren, Grivois is a 2002 graduate of Husson Collegein business administration, and has been project director for the Power of Prevention Healthy Maine Partnerships. Grivois is a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Kentucky, Georgia and Germany as a cavalry scout. He lives with his wife, Claudia, in Van Buren.
Grivois’ focus for the AHEC Aroostook County office will be to encourage Maine students to pursue a career as a health professional. Grivois will provide middle and high school students, as well as career seekers, with presentations of www.MaineHealthCareers.com, an interactive Web-based health career exploration program of the Maine AHEC Network.
