Presque Isle police discovered a stolen vehicle at the Aroostook Centre Mall on Jan. 17 at around 11 a.m., which was found to be the same vehicle that recently went missing from the parking lot of Sleeper’s in Caribou.    The vehicle a four-door 1998 gold Ford Taurus, belonging to Nancy Conley of Caribou, was left running  with the key in the ignition outside the Lyndon Street business as Conley went inside to pick up a few items.
When Conley returned to the parking lot she found the vehicle to be missing and immediately contacted the Caribou Police Department. Caribou police sent a description of the vehicle to police departments statewide. Without much information to go on, as the theft appeared to be a random act, Caribou Police along with Conley could do little, but wait for the vehicle to turn up.
Fortunately the vehicle did turn up with the keys in the ignition. Conley was informed, by police and picked the vehicle up herself.
There are currently no suspects in this case although the investigation is ongoing. Individuals with any information on this case are encouraged to contact the Caribou Police Department at 493-3301.
