Image    Susan Lyons, daughter of Richard and Loretta Lyons of Dyer Brook, Director of University Initiates at Harvard University and Harvard Business School, was a recipient of the Marion L. Anderson Award at Harvard's University Development Office.
The award is given out annually and selectively. The award recognizes members of the Harvard University Development team who best demonstrate efficiency, courtesy, and imagination" and who also characterize leadership, productivity, and a positive approach to their work.
The citation for Lyons noted, "She is a wonderful role model — having started as a student worker while in graduate school at the Harvard Divinity School, then moving on up the ladder to her current senior
position. She is always willing to offer her common sense and experienced perspective to colleagues seeking guidance. Along the way, Susan's colleagues have deeply appreciated her collaborative spirit, warm heartedness, and unfailing wisdom."
Lyons graduated from Southern Aroostook Community High School. She holds an AB from Bowdoin College in Brunswick Maine, and a Masters degree in Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School.
Susan holds this award in honor and in loving memory of her mother, Loretta Lyons, who passed away on Aug. 31, 2007.
