The Southern Aroostook Lady Warriors had two home wins last week, as last Saturday, the Lady Warriors topped visiting Limestone, 45-32 and last Wednesday, they dropped visiting East Grand, 78- 18.
Against Limestone, the Lady Warriors trailed in the first half, 23-16, and were outscored 14-8 in the second period for the Lady Eagle halftime lead.
“We made defensive adjustments and we came out and were able to execute,” said SACS Coach Jessica Porter.
The Lady Warriors used a 29-9 second-half scoring surge en route to the win.
Liz Goodall led the Lady Warriors with 17 points and Jasmine Rockwell had 10.
“We are coming together as a team,” said Porter. “The girls have really been working on playing with focus and discipline, and they continue to work to improve with each game. They are learning more and more about the game each night. I am very happy with the way things have started to come together for the girls. They are beginning to play up to their potential and are gaining confidence in each game.”
The Lady Warriors still have tough opponents to face in the second half of the season — GHCA, Central Aroostook, Ashland, Hodgdon and Limestone.
“We plan on just taking one game at a time,” Porter said. “One quarter at a time and as a young team, look to improve each night.”
Against East Grand, the Lady Warriors staked a 23-7 first-quarter lead en route to a 78-18 win.
Goodall led the way with 23 points, while Mataya Ryan dropped in 11 points. Jasmine Rockwell and Brittany Charette had 10 points apiece for the winners.

Sleeper finished the game with 27 points, while Colby Clark netted 24 points.
For Katahdin, Ethan Qualey had 15 points, while teammate Evan McCarthy added 11 points.
