LITTLETON — The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum will host their annual free membership supper on Saturday, Jan. 19. With 2008 paid dues, attendees will receive their supper free. The Jan. 19 menu includes: roast beef with a variety of side dishes, rolls, desserts and beverages. For anyone who is not a member, the price is $8 for the meal.
Membership fees are: single, $20; family, $30; sodbuster, $50; thresher, $100 or farmer of the year, $250. Lifetime Memberships are also available: $500 for a single and $750 for a couple. Membership includes the January supper, four newsletters a year and free admittance to the museum. Supper begins at 4:30 and continues until 6 p.m. The museum will be open at 3 p.m. for tours and during the supper hour. There are always new items being added to the displays, so all are welcome to enjoy a tour while visiting.
Anyone interested in working on or contributing to the current projects is more than welcome. Current projects include: refurbishing the Ross School, carpentry work in the Carl and Helen Hagan Barn, cataloguing the museum inventory, being a summer tour guide, lawn mowing, pick up of donated items, cooking for suppers and some computer work.
Donations are also being accepted for the last 48 folding chairs to complete the dining room project. They are $20 each, or chairs can be donated in memory or in honor of someone.
The museum is open on the days of our suppers or by appointment through the winter. The next scheduled supper will be Moosestompers Weekend, Feb. 2 followed by a dessert auction to benefit the Littleton Fire Department.
