fall 2007 honorees
    Washburn District High School held their 2007 fall sports awards program on November 15.
    The varsity boys’ and girls’ soccer teams were congratulated for their great year and playoff performances.
 

    Sheldon Hyde, boy’s soccer coach, presented varsity letters to Connor Fitzpatrick, Kyle Huston, Cameron Huston, Chris Farley and Adam Wilcox.
    Athletes awarded pins included Ethan Doody, Brian Campbell, Alex McIntosh, Nick McIntosh, Sebastian Viola, Salvatorre Viola, Jon Hester, Evan Sperrey, Justin Howe and Trevor Pendexter.         Three year plaques were presented to Nick McIntosh and Alex McIntosh.
    Doody was recognized for his All-Aroostook award.  The leadership award was presented to Campbell. McIntosh was named most valuable player. Howe was named the most improved player
    Ron Ericson, girl’s soccer coach, presented girls’ team awards.
    Receiving a certificate was Julie Stephenson. First varsity letters included Lindsey Blackstone, Dakota Koch, Sarah Sjoberg, Rebecca Campbell, Meaghan Saucier and Hillary Jackson.         Receiving pins were Kelsee McLaughlin, Kristen Goupille, Erika McDougal, Alex Bird, Morgan Berube, Rachel Palmer, Charly Chandler and managers Amber Reed, Kayla Pike and Kelly O’Donnell.
    Special mention was given to equipment manager Owen James. Earning third year plaques were Berube and Palmer.
    Players recognized for being named to the All-Aroostook team were McLaughlin, Goupille, Bird, and Berube.
    The co-coach’s awards were presented to McDougal and Goupille. McLaughlin received most valuable defensive player and Bird most valuable offensive player.
    Bird received the Butch Shaw Award.
    Doody, Goupille, Bird and Campbell received varsity sweaters.
