To the editor:
Viewing the plays put on by the Presque Isle High School students has always been a joy. The directors are able to pull true talent out of the performers which must surprise even the students. Most importantly, when directing a play the directors have included lessons and studies of the historical, and cultural aspects of the lives and times behind what the stories those plays tell before the students truly begin to rehearse. To aid the student actors members from our community have been tapped to help the students learn just how to portray characters within the context of the lives and times the plays’ stories tell.
The efforts of so many community members as well as faculty truly brought out a high quality performance in this year’s play, “Fiddler on the Roof.” Mannerisms, music, stage presence, concentration of everyone involved with that production was of the highest caliber. All in the audience sat, enthralled, at what they saw and heard.
The students learned well in the short period of time they had to bring forth an excellent production. The faculty directors, and members of this community taught the student actors well. Our whole community benefits from the dedication of all involved who put on a superior production. Most importantly, those student participants showed dedication, devotion to an effort, and respect to each director, and to each other. All those efforts were combined into a grand performance.
