Easy money, new technology — An easy chance to make $1 can be had at Whitcomb & Riley as they have recently installed the best and latest model of a National cash register for the benefit of their customers. The store will present $1 to any customer who can make a purchase and not receive in return a printed receipt for the same.
Special service — The vesper service in the Unitarian Church Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock was successful in every way, the musical part of the program being especially interesting. The singing of the choir was good while the solo work of Miss May Sincock and Mr. Archibald and the duet of Miss Sincock and Miss Burnham were especially pleasing. The address by the pastor was on “The Well-Dressed Soul.”

Grange installation — Installation of Houlton Grange officers was held Friday evening at the local Grange Hall. Officers installed included: Nola Boutilier, ceres; Faye Fleming, lecturer; Willis Longstaff, worthy master; Alice Longstaff, pomona; Fern Stewart, assistant steward; Mabel White, chaplain; Jewett Adams, executive committee; Perley Stephens, steward; James Hagan, assistant steward; William Hay, gate keeper; Virginia Sherman, secretary; Helen Hay, pianist and Andy Boutilier, overseer.

Construction at Community Park — The town council Monday night authorized Philip McCarthy to seek federal funds to assist with the proposed construction of a building at Community Park to house a concession stand and restrooms.
