Perley Quimby returned from a very successful hunting trip last week, bringing home a large 14-point buck. Being a taxidermist, he will mount the head.
“The Blonde Venus,” starring Marlene Deitrich, was playing at the Powers Theatre.
P. J. Sullivan of the Caribou Rotary Club spoke about the proper grading and merchandising of Aroostook County potatoes during the weekly luncheon and meeting.
Potatoes were selling at 65 center a barrel.

Ralph Allen, Donald Collins and David Solman were elected president, vice president and clerk, respectively, of the Caribou Community Hotel Corp. Parker Briggs was elected treasurer.
Maurice Hale was elected Worthy Master of the Caribou Grange No. 138.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Strainge and son, David, called on her parents Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Anderson of Stockholm.
Caribou Kiwanis Club was formed this week with Bert Pratt Jr., named as president.

Caribou City Council and the Cary Medical Center Board of Directors agree to form a committee to study the hospital’s problems and propose solutions. City Mayor Patricia Collins proposed the forming of the committee.
The School Department was planning open houses at the city’s various schools so parents could meet with teachers about the students’ progress.
The Caribou Drama Club staged “South Pacific.” Patrick Snowman played Luther Billis and Becky Bouchard portrayed Ensign Nellie Forbush.
Renovations at Damon Elementary School at Loring Air Force Base cost $840,000. The aim was to improve the educational atmosphere at the base school.
