To the editor:
It may seem early to be talking about who the next President should be, but Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) gives all of us real hope for change in Washington. Dr. Paul is a conservative, Reagan-style Republican who is truly unique. As a 10-term Congressman, he has never voted for a tax increase, never gone on a paid junket and does not even participate in the incentive congressional pension system!
He is a former OB-GYN who has delivered over 4,000 babies and is staunchly pro-life. He is truly the nation’s champion of the Constitution and is an especially ardent supporter of the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. He is against NAFTA, GATT and all of these trade deals that have decimated our good-paying job base.
You may not have heard that much about Ron Paul yet, as he is anathema to the “military industrial complex” and their control over our media and the political process — but you will! On Monday, he raised $4.2 million in one day and is now a solid third in cash on hand among all Republican candidates. He has received more money in donations from military personnel than any other candidate, because of his strong emphasis on the Constitution and his firm belief that we should not be the “policemen of the world.”
