It wasn’t easy, but the HBMI Bucks improved their record to 4-0 last weekend at Connell Park in Woodstock with a 12-0 victory over a vastly improved L.G. Wilson Spartans club.

HAND OFF – A HBMI Buck gets the handoff from the quarterback, as the Spartans’ defense moves in during last Saturday’s Southern Aroostook-Woodstock Youth Football game held at Connell Park.
QB Keighan Robichaud-Griffin scored on a four-yard run in the first half, and was a standout on defense, as well. RB Keegan Gray also contributed with a 12-yard run for the Bucks.
QB Corey Moorehead and RB Mitch Vargas kept the Spartans moving all day, but the stout Bucks defense kept them off the scoreboard and out of the win column (0-4). CB Tanika Toby was the defensive standout for the winless Spartans with four TFLs.
In the first game, the VIP Roadrunners emerged with a 26-13 win over the JazzSports Jazz. RB Sam Gray accounted for three scores — two rushing and one receiving — while QB Brandon Pickel threw two touchdown passes for the 3-1 Roadrunners. WR Ben Gray caught a beautiful 25-yard touchdown pass for the winners. DE Dallas Tomah led the Roadrunners defense.
RB James Grant continued to be the focal point of the Jazz (2-2) offense. FB Donald Devoe and QB Lucas Flewelling also played well for the Jazz in the loss.
The league returns to action on the U.S. side of the border this Friday night beginning at 3 p.m. at the Houlton baseball field as they play two games in advance of the Knight’s Aroostook Football League (high school) game versus Caribou-Presque Isle.
