OVERSEAS – QMC John (JJ) Schools has left on a nine-month deployment to Iraq with the U.S. Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, Riverine Squadron.
Schools, boat captain, with his crew, which consists of five crewmen — himself, two forward gunners, a coxwain and an aft gunner — will patrol and secure the rivers. The crew is left to right, HT2 Chris Wilson, GMSA Billy Wayne Hawkins, GM3 Stephen McDaniel, QMC JJ Schools and EN3 Enver Sibiliamartinez. Schools is currently stationed in Virginia Beach, Va. with his wife Alysia and their three children, Jaci, Bria and Dominick. Schools is the son of George and Lynda Schools and Alysia is the daughter of Diana Henderson and Jock (Paul) Gentle.
