HOULTON, Maine — The Aroostook County District Attorney’s Office welcomed a Houlton native to its ranks this month with the addition of Patrick Gordon as assistant district attorney for the Houlton area. Gordon, who started Sept. 4, replaces Suzanne Russell, assistant district attorney for southern Aroostook since 1991. Russell resigned in July to begin employment with Legal Services for the Elderly.
“We will miss Suzanne,” said District Attorney Neale Adams. “But we are fortunate to have someone of [Gordon’s] skill and training join us and Houlton is fortunate to reacquire him and his family.”
The son of Foster and Margaret Gordon, he grew up in Houlton and earned a degree at the University of Maine at Orono before finishing at the University of Maine School of Law in 1996. He practiced law in the Houlton area for close to a year before moving to the Portland area. Since October 2001, he has worked as an assistant district attorney in York County.
“I’m basically doing the same thing here that I’ve been doing for close to six years in York County,” Gordon said in interview last week at his Military Street office.
Gordon said he’s enjoying the chance to work in his hometown again and he’s looking forward to being part of the community.
