CIGARET SHOPPPER — The Cigaret Shopper opened last week on North Street offering customers tobacco products of all varieties and prices. Welcoming customers to the new store are store manager Chris Putnam and sales associate Melissa Tidd.

“We opened in Presque Isle the first part of July and it’s done quite well,” said owner Ken Nagle. “So, we decided to open one here in Houlton.”
Nagle is no stranger to Houlton: the son of Bob and Molly Nagle, Ken grew up right down the street from his new business in the building that’s currently home to First Citizen’s Bank.
“Dad bought Reid’s Confectionary and our family operated that in Houlton until 1987,” explained Nagle.
The Cigaret Shopper stores originally started as a division of Reid’s Confectionary, and over the years, the company opened nine of the tobacco specialty shops.
Nagle said set-up at the Houlton shop has gone smoothly, and managers have been hired. Chris Beaulieu is the operations manager and Chris Putnam is the store manager. A grand opening will be announced in the near future.
The goal, said Nagle, is to offer a variety of products for a variety of customers.
“We carry the full gamut of tobacco products,” he said. “We have everything from the least expensive products to $10 premi um cigars.”
For more information, contact The Cigaret Shopper at 532-7207 or visit them at 64 North Street. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Customers must be 18 to enter the store.
