WASHBURN – Viola P. Peary, 89 died Sunday morning September 9, 2007 at the Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. She was born in New Sweden on April 11, 1918, the daughter of Carl D. and Martha (Nelson) Anderson.
She worked as a LPN for a number of years at the A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle. Viola enjoyed doing crafts, knitting, sewing, and was a wonderful artist. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Washburn, where she served on the Ladies missions, and taught Sunday school.
She is survived by three sons and their wives; Gaynol and Linda Peary of Fort Fairfield, Richard and Christa Peary of Sidney, Donald and Janet Peary of Washburn, a brother Ralph Anderson of Manchester, Conn., two sisters, Vangeline Jernstrom of East Ham, MA, and Doris Brown of Brewer. Six grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Linwood W. Peary.
Funeral services were held 2PM Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Washburn Main St., Washburn with Pastor Clark Jalbert officiating.
Friends called 1PM until time of service. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Perham. Those who wish may donate in her memory to the American Cancer Society New England Div.
