Simonds, Melody L., 60, of Fort Fairfield, ME. and Springfield, VT., died July 13, 2007 at a Presque Isle health care facility. Friends may call July 18, 2007 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Pricision Valley Baptist Church Rt. 6, North Springfield, VT, where a memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at the Oakland Cemetery, Springfield VT. Arrangements are in the care of the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield, Me. Fort Fairfield, ME & Springfield, VT    – Melody L. Simonds, 60, beloved wife of Stephen Simonds, died unexpectedly, Friday afternoon, July 13, 2007 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born February 28, 1947 in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, the daughter of Rodney and Jeanette (Buxton) Austin. Melody graduated from the Springfield, VT school system in 1965 and was married to Stephen Simonds on March 4, 1967. Melody was predeceased by her father Rodney Austin in 1974 and is survived by her husband of forty years, Stephen Simonds of Fort Fairfield, ME; two sons and daughters-in-law, Matt and Marcia Simonds of Presque Isle, ME, Jared and April Simonds of Fort Fairfield, ME; her mother, Jeanette Angers and her husband Edward of Perkinsville VT; three brothers, Rodney Austin and his wife Tina of Missoula, MT, Chuck Austin of Westlawn, PA, Ray Austin of Reading, PA; six sisters, Sharon Tucker and her husband Glen, Pat Bobar and her husband Arlan , all of Springfield, VT, Pam Gordon and her husband Frank of Alberta, Canada, Heather Westney and her husband Robert of Perkinsville, VT, Jeanette Austin and Gretchen Ward and her husband Roger, all of Springfield, VT; six grandchildren, who Melody lived her life for, especially Jessica Simonds, her handicapped granddaughter, Chelsea, Samantha and Emily Simonds, Morganne Bragden, all of Presque Isle, ME, Hannah Simonds of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday, July 18, 2007 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Pricision Valley Baptist Church, Rt. 6, North Springfield, VT, where a memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Harold Stanfill officiating. Interment will take place at the Oakland Cemetery, Springfield, VT.
