Athletes of the Week
The Varsity Club and Big Cheese Pizza are pleased to congratulate track and field team members Corey Park and Ashley Williamson for being selected as Athletes of the Week for the week of May 28-June 2. For the week of June 4-9, Jerrica Fox and Kailee Ireland were named Athletes of the Week.
At the state track and field meet, Park placed sixth in the 1.600 meter run and fifth in the 800 meter run, while Williamson placed ninth in the discus competition.
As for ninth-graders Fox and Ireland, both athletes have stepped up to run any race their coaches have asked them to, including the 4×400 meter relay at the state track meet. According to Coach McAtee, both girls “are the types of athletes you want on your team. They do their best every time, never complain about workouts and are never negative toward anyone on their team or other teams.”
Student-athletes chosen as Athletes of the Week receive a 1-item large pizza courtesy of Big Cheese Pizza.
