PRESQUE ISLE – MMG Insurance Co., a subsidiary of Maine Mutual Group, a regional, property and casualty insurance company with its home office located in Presque Isle, is pleased to announce the promotions of Joseph Cassidy to personal lines senior underwriter and Michael Rand to commercial lines senior underwriter/business development specialist.
Cassidy began his career with MMG Insurance Co. as an associate underwriter in 1997. In 1998, he was promoted to underwriter and then, in 1999, he was promoted to personal lines lead underwriter.
He earned both his Bachelor of Science and his Master of Science degrees in Business Management from Husson College. He holds his property and casualty license, and has earned the distinction of being named Underwriter of the Year three times by the United Insurance Group (UIG).
Cassidy and his wife, Heather, have three sons, Collin, Dalton and Ethan.
Rand began his career with MMG Insurance Co. as an associate underwriter in 1999. In 2000, he was promoted to the position of commercial lines underwriter and, in 2002, he was promoted to commercial lines lead underwriter.
Rand graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maine at Presque Isle, earning his Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management.
He has also earned the certificate in general insurance from the Insurance Institute of America and, in 2006, earned his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
Rand and his wife, Jennifer, have three sons, Josh, Eric and Gabriel.
