Correction

In the Dec. 27 edition of The Star-Herald it was mistakenly reported in the story “Local rider seeks Habitat donations” on page 9 that Erin Bougie is from Stockholm. She is from New Sweden.

The contact phone number for Bougie was also listed incorrectly. To contact her for more information on sponsoring her trip call her at 896-3049 or 227-7172.

PIHS athlete of the week

The Varsity Club and Big Cheese Pizza are pleased to congratulate Ben McPherson and Angela Norsworthy for being selected as athletes of the week for the week of Dec. 11-16.

McPherson scored three goals and added two assists to lead the hockey team to a 5-5 tie with Orono and a 3-1 victory over Old Town. According to coach Carl Flynn, “Ben continues to lead the team as a captain should, both on and off the ice.”

Norsworthy helped the girls’ varsity basketball team down two tough opponents with 24 points against Mount Desert Island and 18 against Ellsworth.

Student athletes chosen as athletes of the week receive a one-item, large pizza courtesy of Big Cheese Pizza.
